Indian Economic Service/ Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2008
The Union Public Service Commission will hold the Indian Economic Service/ Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2008 Commencing from 22nd November 2008 for recruitment to Grade IV of the Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service. The Examination will be held at various centres across the country.
Conditions of Eligibility:
- Age Limits: Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st January, 2008. The upper age limit is relaxable for Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/ Other Backward Classes/ Physically Handicapped and certain other categories of candidates to the extent specified in the Notice.
- Educational Qualifications: A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Economics/ Applied Economics/ Business Economics/ Econometrics and a candidate for the Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics from a recognized university.
- Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the Physical Standards for the Indian Economic Service/ Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2008
Application form: The candidates must apply in the common application form devised by the Commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated Head Post Offices throughout the county against cash payment of Rs. 20/-.
Examination Fee: Rs. 100/- to be paid through a single central recruitment fee stamp only. SC/ ST/ PH candidates are exempted from payment of Fees.
Last Date: 21.07.08 (28.07.08 for candidates from far-flung areas)
